Gestern sind wir in den Nachbarort Counsil Bluffs gefahren, da Jeff dort ein Konzert hatte.
Wir haben dort Libby, die Frau des Tubisten und ihre zwei Toechtern Nora und Georgia getroffen. Georgia ist 2 Monate aelter als Joey.
Yesterday we went to Council Bluffs to see Jeff play a concert at a park.
We met Libby, the wife of the tuba player, and her daughters Nora and Georgia. Georgia is about two months older than Joey.

Heute waren Joey und ich mal wieder im Zoo. Diesmal haben wir das neu eroeffnete Schmetterlingshaus und das Aquarium besucht. Die Schmetterlinge fand Joey ganz nett aber da sie an die Fische ganz nah ran kommt, faszinieren die sie mehr.

Joey and I went to the zoo today. This time we checked out the newly opened butterfly house and the aquarium. Joey liked the butterflies but she prefers the fish since she can get closer to them.




Joey und ich waren fleissig am Fische beobachten, als sich ploetzlich ein Verehrer naeherte:

Als wir neulich im Schwimmbad waren, kam auch ein kleiner Junge auf Joey zu und wollte sie unbedingt auf den Arm nehmen. Als das unser 5 jaehriger Nachbarjunge sah, kam er ganz schnell angerannt und machte erst mal allen klar, dass er doch Joey's Freund sei. War total suess.

When we went to the pool the other day there was a little boy who wanted to hold Joey. But as soon as our 5-year old neighbor boy saw him, he came running and made everyone clear that he is Joey's friend!

Eine kleine Zwischenmahlzeit musste auch sein.

Snack time.

Abends waren wir noch mit unseren Nachbarn auf dem Spielplatz.

Later we went to the playground with our neighbors.

Gestern hatte Jeff's Band ein Sommerpicknick am See, der zur Base gehoert. Dort ist es ganz nett. Es gibt Grillhuetten, Spielplaetze, man kann Fischen gehen und mit einem Paddelboot auf dem See herumpaddeln. Leider ist es verboten dort auch schwimen zu gehen.
Joey fands Klasse und war danach so erschlagen, dass sie erstmal ein zweieinhalb- stuendiges Mittagsschlaefchen halten musste.
Yesterday we went to Jeff's Band picnic at the base lake. It is pretty nice there. They have places where you can grill, playgrounds, you can go fishing.....but unfortunately you are not allowed to swim in the lake.
Joey loved it. After we got home she took a two and a half hour nap to recover.

Joey und Emma's taeglicher Kampf um Emma's Spielzeug. Joey nimmt es ihr weg und wedelt damit vor ihrer Nase herum. Emma versucht dann, es ihr wieder abzunehmen. Die Joey waechst nicht als " Einzelkind" auf ;-).

Joey and Emma's daily fight over Emma's toys. Joey takes it away from her and waves around with it right in front of her nose. And Emma tries to get it back. Joey is definitely not an " only child".

Nachmittags waren wir bei Costco einkaufen. Fuer eine laengere Zeit still zu sitzen faellt Joey zunehmend schwerer. Da sie aber noch nicht laufen kann, war es besser, sie in den Einkaufswagen zu stellen als sie auf dem Boden herumkrabbeln zu lassen.

We went to Costco in the afternoon. Joey has a hard time sitting still. Therefore we thought it would be better for her to climb around in the shopping card than to crawl on the floor since she can't walk yet.

Heute Morgen waren wir auf dem Markt. Leider war es so voll, dass ich keine Fotos machen konnte. Joey ist durch 's einkaufen " Menschenmassen" ja gewohnt aber Emma, das alte Landei, war ganz aufgeregt als wir mit ihr nach " downtown" fuhren und musste sich, wieder zu Hause, erstmal davon erholen.

This morning we went to the farmers market in downtown Omaha. Unfortunately it was too crowded to take any pictures. Joey enjoyed watching all those people and Emma enjoyed the smell of the city. Back home she needed some time to catch up on her usual afternoon nap.
